Whidbey Island's unique maritime climate makes it an ideal location for growing Pinot Noir grapes. This varietal thrives in the island's cool climate. Situated in a "rain shadow", Whidbey Island receives considerably less rain than the surrounding Puget Sound area assuring a long, dry growing season.
